Request to add Turkish language

Hi, I would like to add translations for the Turkish language. I created an account here. Since it’s been a while and my account is not approved, I wanted to open a discussion.

Hello, have I been forgotten or is Turkish integration simply not a priority at this time? @pepicrft @marekfort

Hey @emirhankarahan
I added Turkish to https://translate.tuist.dev. Can you see it? We have 2 main translation surfaces now:

  • The documentation
  • The marketing site

My suggestion is that we start with the translation, and then enable it once we reach 90% of translated content. The documentation website is ready for RTL languages so very minimal changes are required there for publishing. The marketing site will require some adjustments for RTL, which I can make if we reach 100% of translated content. In this case the amount of content to translate is not that much.

Down the road we’ll make the dashboard also localizable.

Hey @pepicrft, sorry for the late reply. I didn’t get the email for some reason.

Yes, I can see the language. It says: “The translation is temporarily closed for contributions due to maintenance. Please come back later.” Also, I need to mention that Turkish is not an RTL language; it is LTR.

@emirhankarahan could you try again? There was a conflict and Weblate locked the component for translation.

Also, I need to mention that Turkish is not an RTL language; it is LTR

My bad, in that case everything is ready so as soon as the content is ready we can enable it.

Now it is working, but I can only suggest translations since I don’t have an account. Can you also help me with that? I previously submit this form @pepicrft

Sweet! You should be able to create an account and start translating. Could you check if the account creation works?

I tried creating an account two weeks ago but never received any emails(I also checked the spam folder). After your comment, I tried again and still didn’t get anything. Then I thought the issue might be related to my email provider, iCloud, and I was right.

When I use my main iCloud email, I don’t receive any messages, but if I use a temporary email address, the email arrives immediately. The same issue happens with emails from community.tuist.dev. I don’t get any notifications when I’m mentioned either.

Could you check if this is an easy issue to fix? If so, I’m happy to wait. If not, I can use my Outlook account instead of my main iCloud address. Thank you @pepicrft
